Myles Smith Crowned BBC Introducing Artist of the Year 2024
Myles Smith, a 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Luton, has been honored as the 2024 BBC Introducing Artist of the Year. Following in the footsteps of artists like Tom Grennan and Celeste, Myles achieved a stellar year with his platinum hit Stargazing, which garnered over a billion global streams, reached Number 1 Airplay in seven countries, and even featured on Barack Obama’s summer playlist.
Reflecting on the accolade, Myles expressed gratitude for his journey, saying, “This award isn’t just mine. It belongs to everyone who’s supported me, from BBC Introducing to every listener and believer out there. I feel like I’m just getting started, and there’s so much more to come.”
The award was presented by BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson and Kerrie Cosh, who have championed Myles throughout his career. Kelly Betts, Head of BBC Introducing, praised Myles for his relentless dedication since 2017, with all 25 of his uploaded tracks receiving airplay. She called the award a testament to his hard work and said the team is excited to continue supporting him on his journey.
